Blosengelmarkt with arts and crafts market Marktgasse and Neustadt

A traditional market since 1975

The Blosengelmarkt marks the start of the Advent season in Feldkirch and has become a traditional event in over 40 years of existence. On the weekend before the first Advent, the market invites you to immerse yourself in the pre-Christmas ambience of the old town. The Blosengelmarkt has developed into a meeting place for the whole region: Meet friends and enjoy the delicious, regional delicacies together with the first punch or mulled wine of the season at one of the numerous stalls - all run by Feldkirch clubs and restaurateurs.

How did the Blosengelmarkt get its name?

The late Fidl Schurig, a Feldkirch man with heart and soul, gave his name to today's Blosengelmarkt. According to stories told by Fidl Schurig, the market owes its name to a sketch he "threw down" of an angel with a trumpet - in other words, a blowing angel. This sketch from back then is also the basis for the advertising campaign and so the likeable version of the "Ur-Blosengel" smiles from the posters.
